Blogmo Day 7: Mediation on a dead and forgotten tv show

December 7, 2008

I was quite shocked, that when on my internet travels today, I found a youtube episode of the 1992-1993 Norman Lear sitcom The Powers That Be. It’s about a Senator! And his wacky staff! And his quite stupid daughter! I don’t know whether to laugh at how quickly the sitcom style has changed or be sad that this occurred during my lifetime.

I wouldn’t suggest watching all of this, but please, please watch through the opening credit sequence. I am tempted to put this on my iPod, walk around the city with it playing, acting like a dolt.

Do you see it? The faint glimmers of Spin City? Or how it took almost a decade for the TV show set in Washington to not be considered a tragic suggestion?
